Marvel Heroes Celebrates Third Anniversary With Weekend-Long Event

Marvel Heroes 2016 is hitting its third anniversary this weekend, and they're ready to party. The game, with the expansive roster of playable characters from the pages of Marvel Comics that you can see above, has changed drastically since its launch three years ago, adding major gameplay tweaks, higher end graphics, new storylines, villains, and of course tons of new playable characters.

While the official anniversary is Saturday, June 4, the party starts Friday June 3 with a livestream event on Twitch starting at 11am PDT. Various members of the Gazillion team will play the game live while also talking about what they do on the staff and answer fan questions throughout.

Meanwhile, in-game events all weekend (and for the weeks to come, a press release promises) will help players directly celebrate the third anniversary. The return of Midtown Madness and Mystic Mayhem will launch tomorrow, as well as an experience boost and "a few other surprises."

This game is notable for it's massive evolution, but also for its heavy inclusiveness, with popular characters from the X-men and Fantastic Four line thanks to some legacy licensing that are oft-ignored in other media (because of the complicated merchandising and film rights issues). So log onto Marvel Heroes this weekend, max out a new character or two, and celebrate three years of full Marvel universe adventure.
