Marvel Teases Major Fantastic Four Return With New ‘Two-in-One’ Pages

The Fantastic Four are returning to the Marvel Universe in a big way, and that adventure kicks off in Marvel’s debut issue of Two-in-One.

The first issue is titled “Fate of the Four part 1”, and features The Thing (Ben Grimm) and Human Torch (Johnny Storm) fighting side by side once again. Sure, it isn’t the Fantastic Four just yet, but even a Fantastic Two is a step in the right direction, right?

As you can see in the preview pages, the legacy of the Fantastic Four is a monumental one, though the world has kept on moving in their absence. That doesn’t mean it needs them any less, but rather it just needs them in a different way. That will be the focus of writer Chip Zdarsky’s first arc, as the two heroes search for the rest of their family.

“It’s Ben and Johnny diving headfirst into the mystery of what happened to them,” Zdarsky told Newsarama. “The world presumes that Reed, Sue, and the kids are dead, but Johnny especially can’t accept that fact. So we’re heading on a road trip to find out what happened.”

You’ll notice that quest brings them into conflict with an iconic Fantastic Four villain, Doctor Doom. Doom has been doing his best to keep the straight and narrow lately, but that doesn’t mean Johnny and Ben are going get along with him. Unfortunately, they’re going to have to, as Doom holds the key to finding their friends.

Marvel Legacy teased the team’s return, and fans will want to hop on board in Marvel Two-in-One #1. The book’s description can be found below, and the preview can be found in the gallery.
