Netflix and Marvel recently unveiled the first teaser and image for the upcoming Marvel’s The Punisher series. Plenty of fans took to Twitter to express their excitement about seeing Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) back in action. The Punisher‘s official Twitter account was on hand to respond to many of those comments, with a level of snark fit for Frank Castle himself.

Marvel Television fans shouldn’t be too surprised by these comments, as the Twitter accounts for all of the pre-Defenders shows have become known for interacting with fans in a similar ways.

Still, The Punisher Twitter’s responses have been pretty great, and we thought we would compile some of the highlights. Click through to the next slide to check them out.

Before You Go

Frank Castle is an ex-Marine and was a family man. That all changed when a botched police operation intended to bring in the weapons dealer known as Blacksmith cost Castle his family. From that day forth Castle has been a vigilante seeking out and punishing criminals wherever he can find them. As the Punisher, Frank Castle uses any means necessary to dish out lethal justice to criminals in New York City.

Marvel’s The Punisher is being developed by Steve Lightfoot for Netflix. Lightfoot will serve as showrunner.

Bernthal will star alongside Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson.

Production on the first season of The Punisher commenced in October 2016 and concluded on April 2017. The series is expected to debut on Netflix in 2017.
