For Throwback Thursday, Psylocke actress Olivia Munn showed off an unfortunate side effect of getting the action-heavy part.

For her role in X-Men: Apocalypse, Munn completed a wealth of combat training, and it left its mark in more ways than one. On Instagram, she shared the above picture, with the caption “#tbt training and filming #psylocke fight scenes last summer.”

She also touched on it during a Twitter Q&A when Rachel Sarah asked if she got hurt at all during training. Munn responded: “I did get hurt training, uh, most of it was self-inflicted. I have a picture of my leg on my right side just completely bruised literally from my ankle all the way up to my thigh, and that was just when I was at home trying to learn sword by myself, and this is before I asked for maybe a not so sharp blade to practice with.”
Hopefully, she won’t have to go through that training again for awhile, and can give her legs a break. In the meantime, it appears all that work has paid off, as her spots in the trailers show an extremely faithful representation of the character from the comics.
We’ll all get to see her at work when X-Men: Apocalypse opens on May 27th.
