While there's nothing new to announce yet, and the number of Marvel shows on ABC Television is back down to one, relatively new ABC network president Channing Dungey says that several Marvel TV shows are being talked about presently. She addressed the Marvel slate at the TCA 2016 ABC event, addressing television critics (and doing a lot of dancing around).

"Since I've been in this role we've been in a number of really terrific conversations with the Marvel team. We're actually sitting down in two weeks to discuss our next steps," Dungey said, via IGN. Those conversations have included known-about projects like John Ridley's rumored show and the long-talked about Damage Control comedy series (which at this point Marvel/ABC may have missed the boat on, as DC/NBC's Powerless is covering very similar ground and airing this season), as well as brand new projects.

"We're looking at a number of different things," she said. "Some of them are projects that we were working on before and some of them are totally new ideas and IP."

The network head addressed the idea of finding a thematic conjunction for ABC's Marvel shows, similar to the way the Netflix series all have their exploration of ground-level heroes fighting for a very specific neighborhood and cause, saying "that's an interesting question and we have talked about that." She also addressed the immediate future.

"We have a lot of enthusiasm and we're very, very excited for the plans they have for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4," Dungey said. As far as passing on the spin-off of that series, "Marvel's Most Wanted, at the end of the day, did not feel as strong as some of the other pilots that we shot. We talked about it with Marvel and we all came to an agreement that we wanted to figure out what the next show we do together, and we all feel is as creatively strong as it can be."

A few months ago, Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb said that at any given time they have "nine or ten Marvel shows in some stage of development," so it doesn't sound like Marvel on network television is going away anytime soon.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC this fall, with the addition of mystical anti-hero Ghost Rider.
