The folks over at GeekxGirls discovered 4steex, a DeviantArt artist who drew a gorgeous fan art series named “The Owlvengers” and featured (you guessed it) Marvel’s The Avengers, reimagined as Owls.
…I mean, it’s no JLApe or anything. But still pretty cool.
And of course she’s got Deadpool in here — making for the kind of crossover that could never happen in live action. At least not with people.
They also have Captain America, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Loki…and a blue owl wearing Loki’s helm. Is that a Frost Giant? I can’t think at this hour of the morning, especially when I’m being assailed by owls. The lack of an Ultron seems a little bit like a missed opportunity — but then again, an Ultron Owl might just look a little bit too much like Bubo from the original Clash of the Titans.
Besides The Avengers, she has Harley Quinn and The Joker as cats, and an owl cosplaying as the Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones.
There’s something hilarious about Daenerys’s hair in particular. I love it.
Besides the cosplaying animals (a recent poll suggests that her next of those will likely be either Scarlet Witch or Wonder Woman), 4steex has a wide variety of fantasy art up for display on her DeviantArt page. Commissions appear to be currently open, so if you want to get an original, it looks like it will run you around $100.
Personally, I’m super tempted to drop the $150 on getting Blue Beetle and Booster Gold as owls, but I suspect my wife might object.
