Apparently it doesn’t take much to get a sneak peak at some Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel’s most anticipated film offerings of the year, except for a lot of money invested in the entertainment giant.

With news of the various clips and sizzle reels from the latest Disney shareholders meeting trickling out, the company treated investors to clips of many of their forthcoming movies, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.โ€จ

But they also revealed some of the first footage for the third film in Marvel’s Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok, which is currently ranked the 6th Most Anticipated Film based on votes from ComicBook.com readers.

The footage in question depicted some shots already shown in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, including both Thor and Hulk in their gladiator garb when they’re about to do battle on the planet Sakaar for the entertainment of Jeff Goldblum’s the Grandmaster.

And perhaps most interestingly, the footage also depicted Cate Blanchett‘s Hela holding Mjolnir.

Description of the footage states that she doesn’t wield it typically, but that she’s holding it by the powerful hammer’s head with the handle extended away from her, as if she caught it after it was projected toward her.

Details of the film’s plot indicate that Chris Hemsworth‘s character would be separated from his trusty weapon before being cast to Sakaar. Now we might have an idea of how.

Hela might not be “worthy,” but as an avatar for Death and ruler of a realm of afterlife known as Hel, she is immensely powerful. Whether she is able to wield Mjolnir or simply stop it in its tracks isn’t known. But the film will likely explore the character’s abilities and connection to Asgardian magic.

Up until now, Asgardian has been referred to as “highly advanced technology,” but with the introduction of Doctor Strangeโ€”as well as the existence of the Infinity Stonesโ€”Marvel Studios films have taken slow steps into the magical and mystical territory.

We’ll see if that expands in Thor: Ragnarok when it releases November 3. Are you excited for the latest adventure in the Mighty Thor’s worthy saga? Let us know with your vote below in the Anticipation Rankings!
