Suiting up as a superhero isn’t all its cracked up to be - just ask some of Marvel’s biggest stars. Dressing up as Captain America may seem cool, but the ins-and-outs of the costume are enough to make anybody frustrated. Wearing skintight spandex is a pain for any actor, and those stars have to undergo other (painful) beauty regimens before they can costume up. And, now, two of Marvel’s favorite stars are now poking fun at their heroes’ primping routines.
Over on Twitter, Tom Holland Ryan Reynolds riffed with one another about their heroes. The Spider-Man and Deadpool stars poked fun at how each of their characters treat body hair, and the conversation is about as hilarious as you’d expect.
Taking to social media, Holland tweeted to his fans about a style change he wanted to make for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel. “Thinking about buz cutting my hair for the next one,” he wrote. Plenty of fans responded, but it was Reynold’s tweet that caught all the attention.
“I’m going with the full Brazilian wax,” the Deadpool actor said. “Not gonna let fear run my life.”
Holland then responded, “I had that done yesterday. So smooth…”
No one can be sure if Holland was being forthcoming about his waxing habits, but the British star is known for his jokes; The actor was more than likely ribbing Reynolds for the sake of comedy. Still, getting a full body wax may make it easier for Holland and other superhero actors to get in their suits. Spandex does like to stick, you know?
In the past, Holland has made a point to talk about how uncomfortable it is to wearing the Spider-Man suit. During a previous chat with Variety, the actor said he’s terribly grateful to don the suit, but he does wish it was more comfortable.
The suit's not the greatest thing, but sometimes when it's uncomfortable, you just have to remind yourself of the long list of actors that would love to be in that suit,” he said. “You just go, 'do you know what, fuck it. I'm the luckiest kid alive. I deserve to be here and I'm going to give it my best.”
