Yondu appears to be all but a member of the Guardians in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 if the trailers are any indication. This is surprising, considering the last time we saw the blue-faced Ravager, he learned that Peter Quill had betrayed him and swapped the orb containing an Infinity Stone.

When Yondu and Star-Lord come face to face in the sequel, they might be battling it out before they put their differences aside. An image from the most recent trailer might be a major clue as to how the reunion between Yondu and the Guardians will go down.

In a couple of frames, Rocket Raccoon is seen over an apparently dead body with his hands raised in the air. Beside his head: Yondu’s arrow. If Rocket makes one wrong move, Yondu will whistle that arrow right through his head. The moment can be seen in the image below.

When ComicBook.com asked Michael Rooker if he could share any details of Yondu’s role in the upcoming film, the only details the actor was able to share were regarding his excitement over the new look of Yondu. “I’m just as blue as before and I have a great mohawk,” Rooker said. “I love the new look. The new mohawk is fabulous.”

However, when it comes to teaming up with the Guardians, Rooker says there is still a “grey area” when it comes to their alliance, adding, “A little grey area is always fun to do.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
