While she’s been kicking ass on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD for four seasons as Agent Melinda May AKA The Cavalry, actor Ming-Na Wen has also appeared in a lot of popular shows and movies over the last two decades.

Wen has appeared in Stargate Universe, E.R., and the Joy Luck Club, and provided voiceover work in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Mulan as the title character. She also portrayed the role of fan favorite fighter Chun-Li in the original Street Fighter movie.
The actor was asked about playing the popular video game character and whether she knew of plans to reboot the film franchise or for her to reprise her role. Wen answered the question at her spotlight panel at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in Nashville.
“I don’t know, they tried,” Wen began. “I don’t know how well the [young Chun-Li] revival one did. I mean, I’m sure they’ll try to reboot it again, because I think the game is still pretty popular. You know, the [Street Fighter] game. I hope they do it right.”
Wen’s portrayal of Chun-Li was one of the very few bright spots in the Street Fighter movie, alongside the late Raúl Juliá playing the villainous M. Bison in one of his final roles.
But the movie has since reached a cult status because it’s “so bad, it’s good.” The latest attempt to reboot the film starred Kristin Kreuk from Smallville as Chun-Li in a story focused on her character; that movie was called Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
Since then publisher CAPCOM has authorized a few different Street Fighter miniseries for Machinima. But no plans for a new feature film have been announced.
Wen will next appear in Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD set to premiere early in 2018.
