The footage shows Vanellope von Schweetz surfing through a tube that resembles the pipelines of the internet, with Ralph following close behind (via ScreenRant). Granted, Vanellope is having a much better time than Ralph is, but after they emerge they encounter a motherboard and then the clip ends.
D23 goes on all weekend, and we should be seeing or hearing about additional details and possibly even footage as the show goes on.
Director Rich Moore previously revealed that the film will take place in modern times, and the timeline in regards to the original film.
“It’ll be just like the first one. So it will be exactly four years, or no, six years after the first Wreck-It Ralph. The current day timeline,” Moore said. The interview also teases fans that the upcoming sequel will include a nod towards the Tron films as Moore is a big fan of the franchise. When asked, “Are you going to manage to get TRON in this movie,” the director answered:
The official description of the news from Disney’s CinemaCon panel is as follows:
“A sequel to Wreck It Ralph is coming in 2018 with Rich Moore, Phil Johnston directing and Clark Spencer directing. John C. Riley and Sarah Silverman are returning. March of 2018. Jane Lynch joins as Sargeant Calhoun and Jack McBrayer returns.”
