Benicio Del Toro Guardians Of The Galaxy

While X-Men: Days Of Future Past director Bryan Singer often announces his casting news directly via Twitter, Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn seems to be keeping fairly quiet on Twitter when it comes to official casting news. Deadline has just reported that Benicio Del Toro had been cast in Guardians Of The Galaxy. Benicio Del Toro previously appeared in the comic book movie Sin City. While there is no news on his specific role, his character is reportedly someone that will be a part of future Marvel films. Of course, the hint of future Marvel Studios roles would suggest that Benicio Del Tor could be playing Thanos, who is also said to be a part of Avengers 2. While  Daimon Poitier played Thanos in The Avengers, the character is covered in purple makeup and face prosthetics so it wouldn't be difficult to substitute another actor into the role. Plus, Thanos only appeared in the shadows for a couple seconds in The Avengers. Even though Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista remain the only actors that Marvel Studios has officially confirmed for Guardians Of The Galaxy, Glenn Close, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, and John C. Reilly are also reportedly members of the cast. Guardians Of The Galaxy is scheduled to be released at movie theaters in the United States on August 1, 2014.
