Alex Winter, aka Bill S. Preston, Esq., has an update for Bill and Ted 3, and it's sounding like good news. In a conversation with Forbes, Winter said, "we're all working on the film everyday."

The actor, who has more recently been working as a director and writer, sounds confident, but still gives some caution, saying, "This is Hollywood, so I don't believe it's happening until it's coming out." He says they hope to be shooting by the end of 2016, but possibly early 2017 for principal photography.

Yes, he assures fans, Keanu is on board.

"How the f*** would we make it if he wasn't on board?" Winter said incredulously. "People always ask if Keanu's doing it and I'm like, 'No, I'm making a Bill movie.' Of course he's in it. I can't make a Bill & Ted movie without Keanu."

The script is basically done, as well, "We've been working on it for, like, six years. We're knee deep in the script." That script comes from Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the writers of the first two films, assuring it'll be a direct continuation. "We have a script, we have a director, we have a studio - we're just trying to nail down a start date."

Of course, fans should have caution. As far back as November 2013, Keanu Reeves said a script draft was done, that they were trying to rework to bring the budget down. In March 2015, Winter said, "we're really close," and in August they were "still seeking funding." Having a studio is a new part to the equation, though, so maybe this next excellent adventure is really underway this time.
