The entrepreneur recently announced a deal with X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner and his company RatPac Entertainment to produce a film based on his life. The biopic is expected to deal with his beginnings and the formation of the iconic nude magazine, according to Deadline.
“In recent years there has been plenty of interest and much conversation about doing a feature film based on my life,” said Hefner’s statement.
“I have always believed that when the timing was truly right, the perfect creative partners would come together for this project. I believe we’ve found those partners in Brett Ratner and RatPac Entertainment. I’m very much looking forward to this collaboration.”

Ratner is perhaps best known for the Rush Hour series starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, though he might be more recognized in nerd circles for directing the third X-Men movie. The Rotten Tomatoes-hater also announced his enthusiasm for the film in the statement.
“Hugh Hefner started a sexual revolution from behind the walls of his legendary mansion by using the pages of Playboy Magazine an his own infamous lifestyle to build a global empire that included publishing, clubs, casinos and television networks,” Ratner said.
There’s no word yet on who’s attached to star, but there’s a good bet that Ratner will direct considering he wanted to direct the film the last time it popped up. It seems like this could be a passion pet for the producer.
