During Warner Bros. presentation at the convention, a new piece of footage was shown that is sure to get fans excited for the Christopher Nolan-helmed war film. While a few trailers for the film have been available for some time, this is one of the first few looks at the film itself, and it sounds like it ties right into the IMAX Prologue Event held in February.

Footage Description
Men run across a beach carry a man through a formation on a stretcher. An alarm sounds. They arrive at a group who is arguing. “What’s your name?” one man yells. He tells them they have two minutes or they’ve missed it. They rush down a long rocky pier to a submarine.
Elsewhere, a boy loads plates as a another round man tells him to hurry and load lifejackets. Men at Dunkirk need taking off.
Tom Hardy flies a plane over the ocean with a couple of others in his fleet. The two men from earlier rush the man to a boat.
Suddenly: an explosion in the water. You could hear it coming and then land.ย The boy loading lifejackets unties a boat from the dock, boards with another boy and an older man. The older boy questions why he got in, knowing where they’re going.
The planes become embroiled in a battle. An enemy has the drop on one but Hardy has the drop on the enemy. He opens fire but misses. The boy reach a point on the bridge where a hole has been blown. They try to cross on a single board and do.
The soldiers behind them cheer. The music intensifies with a quickening beat. The planes continue their chase. Hardy continues to fire and continues to miss. He instructs his ally to pull him left. He does and Hardy manages to shoot the enemy.
Smoke starts to come from the plane until he crashes into the water. “He’s down for the count,” Hardy said. A large boat passes the boys with life jackets. It is loaded with soldiers.
At the pier and near land, men hear planes approaching and quickly duck. It gets louder and louder until the movie’s title takes the screen.
It comes back to show Hardy’s plane running out of fuel and turning off mid-air.
