John Noble, late of the fan-favorite Fox TV series Fringe, knows just who to thank if he gets a gig working with his frequent collaborator J.J. Abrams on the new Star Wars trilogy. A writer for Empire, apparently, has confessed to Noble that he was the source of Internet rumors linking the actor to the sci-fi franchise. After including Noble's name on a list of reasons why Abrams is a great choice for Star Wars, the idea apparently took root with fans and became a rumor in its own right, according to an interview with IGN. He also expressed an interest in trying to make those rumors a reality. "If you're going to do one [franchise], do Star Wars," Noble said. "I mean seriously, if you're going to pick one to do, do that one. Because that's basically a cultural revolution. It reset pop culture in some ways. So if I had to choose one, it would be that one." In terms of the odds of it actually happening, Noble said, "I'd love to do Star Wars. That would just be epic doing something like that. And it's not beyond the realm of possibility. I have a terrific relationship with J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot, I really do. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility. It's awhile away yet."
