Goonies 2 in the Works; Superman: The Movie's Richard Donner Wants to Reassemble Original Cast

Richard Donner, best known as the director of Superman: The Movie and The Goonies, told a TMZ cameraman that a Goonies sequel is on the horizon. Asked his thoughts on the current comic book movie marketplace and whether he would consider doing another one down the line, Donner said, "Well, if you call The Goonies a comic book. We're doing a sequel." Asked which stars from the 1980s classic will come back for more, the director answered, "Hopefully all of them." It's been five years since rumors of a Goonies sequel first popped up online, and four years since a number of the actors said they'd heard nothing about it. In the intervening time, Warner Bros. released a box set collecting the original film on Blu-ray along with a number of cool special features, including a Goonies board game.
