Marvel Studios could be gearing up to introduce an all-female Avengers team in Phase 6’s Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, and these five heroes would be perfect for the team’s first line-up. While Captain Marvel was the first female hero to headline her own solo Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, there have been many other incredibly powerful women introduced into the franchise over the years. Marvel previously brought several of these heroes together in Avengers: Endgame, but the Russo brothers’ upcoming MCU movies could feature an honest-to-goodness all-female Avengers team.

Avengers: Endgame’s brief moment of bringing together some of the MCU’s most formidable female heroes is widely regarded to be something of a disappointment. While it was fantastic to see the likes of Pepper Potts’ Rescue, Mantis, Shuri’s Black Panther, Gamora, Valkyrie, and more in action during the Battle of Earth, the idea of a female Avengers team in the MCU needs redemption. This could be inspired by Marvel Comics’ A-Force team, who first formed during 2015’s Secret Wars event, and it would be incredible to see these five female superheroes join forces.
5) Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel

The most obvious member of an all-female Avengers team would be Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel. Brie Larson debuted this supremely-powerful hero in 2019’s self-titled movie, and was the first female hero to lead an MCU project. Captain Marvel has received a great deal of unfounded and unfair criticism since her live-action debut, and her sophomore adventure in 2023’s The Marvels, for whatever reason, became the MCU’s lowest-grossing movie yet. Including Captain Marvel in a female Avengers team, perhaps even as the team’s leader, would give her the redemption and attention she deserves.
4) Layla El-Faouly’s Scarlet Scarab

There are many new heroes in the MCU who haven’t returned since their first appearances, and while we’re waiting for Oscar Isaac to bring Moon Knight back into action, it would also be great to see his god-fighting partner, Layla El-Faouly’s Scarlet Scarab, return. As the MCU’s first Egyptian superhero, May Calamawy’s Scarlet Scarab holds an important position, and a huge amount of untapped power as the avatar of Taweret. She could be the Thor allegory in an all-female Avengers team, empowered by an Egyptian goddess, so her development would change the MCU’s power levels for the better.
3) Jennifer Walters’ She-Hulk

Tatiana Maslany’s recent comments in opposition of Disney make Jennifer Walters’ return to the MCU as She-Hulk even more unlikely, but it would be fantastic to see this incredible new hero return nevertheless. Walters was exposed to Bruce Banner’s irradiated blood in 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and, despite some dodgy VFX, she had an impressive and entertaining debut. She deserves development and justice more than most new MCU heroes, and it would be brilliant to see her become part of a superhero team alongside other formidable women, especially since her debut adventure dealt with issues facing female heroes directly.
2) Yelena Belova’s Black Widow

Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova has seen some huge developments since making her debut in 2021’s Black Widow. She broke free of the Red Room’s control, set out to free other Black Widow assassins, worked as a mercenary for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and saved New York from the Void (Lewis Pullman). At the end of 2025’s Thunderbolts*, Yelena became a member of the New Avengers, but this may not stop her jumping ship to become part of an all-female Avengers troupe. Yelena is used to operating with other powerful women, so it’d be great for this to continue.
1) Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff has had a rough go of it. After debuting as a minor villain alongside Ultron, she became an official member of the Avengers until the Vision’s death. Her collective grief pushed her to the limits, and she fell under the influence of the Darkhold in the Multiverse Saga, transforming her again into a villain. Despite her death in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there is huge speculation about the Scarlet Witch’s return. If she does come back, it would be amazing to see Elizabeth Olsen reprise the role as a hero seeking redemption.
The Scarlet Witch is one of the most powerful characters in the MCU’s history. Her inclusion in an all-female Avengers team would give her the opportunity to get the redemption she deserves โ she ultimately learned the error of her ways in Multiverse of Madness. She needs other women and heroes around her, so introducing an all-female Avengers team would be the best way to bring the Scarlet Witch back into action in the MCU.
