Peacock’s streaming library just got a blood-soaked addition. The NBCUniversal streamer has been adding new titles to its content catalog throughout September 2025. Alongside new additions like The Office spinoff The Paper, The Breakfast Club, and Reservoir Dogs, Peacock added one of 2024’s most profitable horror movies just in time for Halloween, but not every subscriber will be able to stomach it.

As of September 1st, Terrifier 3 is now streaming on Peacock. The movie picks up after the events of Terrifier 2 and continues the story of Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera), and Jonathan Shaw (Elliott Fullam), this time moving from the Halloween season to Christmastime. In addition to being “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a 78% critics score, the movie was one of the most profitable movies of 2024. Terrifier 3 brought home $90.3 million at the global box office on a $2 million production budget, making it not just the highest-grossing film of the Terrifier franchise but also the highest-grossing unrated film of all time.
Why Is Terrifier 3 So Controversial?
If you’ve at all kept up with horror, then you know that the Terrifier franchise has become one of modern horror’s most talked-about film series, with Art the Clown becoming a major horror icon and pop culture figure. The movies, which got their start with a series of shorts beginning in 2008, are known for their high spectacle, blend of horror and comedy elements, and above all else, Art’s absolutely brutal, blood-soaked kills that are too gruesome for some viewers. The Terrifier films are some of the most controversial movies in recent memory due to that extreme graphic violence, dividing horror fans, and Terrifier 3 is no different.
The movie, which holds the highest Rotten Tomatoes audience rating in the series at a “Verified Hot” 85%, takes violence to the next level, introducing even more nauseating and gruesome kills that have even caused some viewers to become sick. The movie’s opening scene in particular was exceptionally brutal and so controversial that some moviegoers walked out of theaters. Violence aside, the Terrifier movies suffer from a lack of plot and character depth, instead relying on the shock value of Art’s violence. Terrifier 3, along with the two movies that came before it, definitely scratches that slasher itch, but the violence and lack of a compelling narrative won’t suit all viewers.
Other Horror Movies Now on Peacock
Peacock boasts a massive collection of horror titles, and September added even more options to the mix. Additional horror movies are set to arrive in October 2025, with Edward Scissorhands, Fright Night, Krampus, Monster House, and The Purge, as well as titles from the Friday the 13th, Leprechaun, and Scream franchises, set to start streaming on October 1st.
