Several weeks ago, El Mayimbe of Heroic Hollywood was the first to report that Marvel was interested in Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) for a role opposite Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) in Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange. While doing press for her new film Southpaw, McAdams confirmed that there is truth to those rumors, though she doesn’t confirm that she taken the part just yet.

McAdams was relatively tight-lipped about the rumor with Den of Geek. “I don’t have much to say about it right now,” she said. “There’s not really anything to comment on. But, if there is, I’ll let you know.”

With the LA Times, the 36-year-old actress, who is known for taking her time contemplating decisions, sounded as though she is still mulling over the opportunity. “It’s still super-early days, and I don’t know where that’s gonna go, if it’s gonna go anywhere at all,” she disclosed.

She added, that she’s not a “comic book snob.” In the past, she turned down the role of Pepper Potts in Iron Man. We’re not sure why, but at least we know it is because of a bias toward the genre.

Marvel’s Dr. Strange will cast a spell on theaters November 4, 2016. Want to know when Marvel’s other movies are opening? Check out our Comic Book Movie Release Schedule here!
