Marvel Studios has officially confirmed Thor 3 in a roundabout way. Marvel didn't actually announce Thor 3 or confirm a release date, but rather they announced a co-writer for the Thor 3 screenplay. According to Marvel, Craig Kyle, who has been the writer on such series as X-Force and New X-Men, is becoming a fulltime screenwriter. His first project will be co-writing the script to the next installment of Thor with longtime collaborator Christopher Yost. Kyle served as a producer on the original Thor movie and Thor: The Dark World. He will be leaving his role as SVP of Production and Development at Marvel Studios to focus on screenwriting. "I am proud of Craig and have enjoyed working with him over these past years," said Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President of Production. "His creative instincts have helped shape Thor and Thor: The Dark World at every level of the filmmaking process. The entire team at Marvel is very happy to continue collaborating with Craig as he continues as a screenwriter working with Christopher on the forthcoming chapter of Thor's adventure." Kyle co-created the character X-23, who is an adolescent female clone of Wolverine. Kyle has worked on a number of animated direct-to-DVD projects and was promoted to SVP of Production and Development of Marvel Studios' live-action division five years ago.
