But, after a stunning miniseries, fans have finally learned where the rest of humanity has been hiding since the war ended.
Over on Cartoon Network, Adventure Time just wrapped up an on-going miniseries which answered the question about Finn’s fellow man. Viewers previously knew that much of mankind was wiped out after the Earth was ravage by a nuclear holocaust. The Land of Ooo was then inundated with humanoid creatures and strange radioactive monsters who Finn befriended alongside his best pal Jake the Dog.
Now, fans know that Finn was just a piece of humanity left behind when the rest of mankind left the mainland in search of safety. In the Adventure Time miniseries, audiences learned that the few human survivors fled to a distant chain of islands to rebuild their society – and it didn’t really work out for them.
The chain of islands all had various settlers wash aboard them, and each society had different degrees of success. Overall, the societies established were uncomfortably rigid, and Finn was no fan of their hierarchal systems. Some islands saw their societies topple thanks to famine and disease. As for others, humanity used its resources to escape the perils of real-life and entered technological havens thanks to virtual reality.
After years of trying to rebuild their fallen world, the humans have since allocated its dredges to a single island. By the end of the miniseries, Finn left his fellow man when the population indicated its unwillingness to explore Ooo. So, as Adventure Time continues its run, there is the possibility that other humans join Finn, Susan, and Frieda on their admittedly bonker adventures.
