Yesterday, AMC chose Ruth Negga ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") to be Tulip in their new comic book based television series Preacher and today they have chosen their Arseface.

Deadline reports, Ian Colletti (Fox's Rake) has been chosen to play Eugene Root, aka Arseface, in Preacher. How'd he get such a lovely nickname? Well, as you can see with the image above, Arseface isn't much to look at it. Why's that? His father is redneck Sheriff that likes to abuse young Eugene and one day he and and his buddy decide to shoot themselves with a shotgun. His buddy dies from his gunshot, but Eugene doesn't. He is left with a deformed face which resembles a butt.

Even though he is now a monster to the town folk, that has stopped him from being a super-sweet young man. Although, he fears that his suicide attempt has angered God and the big guy upstairs will never forgive him.

Preacher follows Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, and has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned his responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making him answer for his dereliction of duty. Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print – an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers —a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse.

The pilot will be produced in the summer of 2015 for series consideration in 2016.
