As the world spins inexorably closer to Avengers: Age of Ultron, it's only natural that Marvel starts to promote Ant-Man a bit more.

A natural place to start is with Judy Greer, who will also appear with Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt in Jurassic World later this year.

Greer, who plays Maggie, Ant-Man's ex-wife, told IGN that there was a lot of comedic improv on the set of the Marvel movie, reflective of what she suggests is a slight tonal shift at Marvel.

"[Marvel] treat us really well and I really like the risks they're taking with the comedy in their superhero movies kind of starting with Guardians of the Galaxy," said Greer, admitting that she didn't know whether any of their improv would make it into the final cut. "I'm friendly with James Gunn and I was so happy that Marvel allowed his personality and his voice to show through because he's one of the funniest guys I know. It's fun to see superheroes who aren't just kicking ass but are also fully formed characters."

The actress, who admitted that her favorite characters used to be Batman and Wonder Woman, said that she's proud of what they've accomplished with Ant-Man.

"This has been my first comic hero that I've really researched and fallen for," she said. "I also think the Ant-Man origin story that we tell in our movie is really beautiful and I think there's something really real about a man trying to better himself for his family."

The film is in theaters on July 17.
