The Projection List is making the educated guess that the first Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will debut in front of Jupiter Ascending, which opens February 6, 2015.
According to the site’s “About” section, The Projection List bases their estimations on a number of factors, including “a project’s shooting schedule, distributor, subject matter, director, cast,” and other factors. Given that Jupiter Ascending is a Warner Bros. film, and that it would almost certainly receive a significant box office boost from the Batman v. Superman trailer, it’s certainly a possibility, one that we mentioned in our own speculations. Still, nothing is confirmed until it’s confirmed.
Other films projected to possibly have trailer debuts in front of Jupiter Ascending include Furious 7, Magic Mike XXL, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
The Projection List also projects that the trailer for The Fantastic Four will debut in front of Kingsman: The Secret Service on February 13, following similar reasoning to the Batman v. Superman projection (the films are from the same studio, in this case Fox, and Kingsman would likely see a boost in ticket sales with a high profile trailer in front of it).
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016.
