Charlie Cox Rumored To Star In Daredevil TV Series

Charlie Cox

British actor Charlie Cox is rumored to be playing the lead role in Marvel Studios' upcoming Daredevil series. Cox is best known for his role as Tristan Thorne in Stardust, but has, more recently, played a supporting role as Owen Slater on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. The Latino Review is reporting that, while not officially confirmed yet, Cox will be playing Matt Murdock in the Netflix Daredevil series. Cox reportedly became available when CBS neglected to a pick up a Wall Street drama that he was attached to appear in. Daredevil will be the first Marvel Studios series on Netflix, making way for three others and a Defenders crossover miniseries. The series was initially to be developed and produced by Drew Goddard, who scripted the first two episodes, but he dropped out of the project to focus on Sinister Six for Sony. Steven S. DeKnight, who shared a writing room with Goddard on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, has taken over as showrunner. Daredevil will arrive on Netflix in 2015.
