Daredevil Netflix Universe To Initially Standalone, But Could Interweave Later

Daredevil Netflix TV Series

Even though there’s been quite a bit of evidence that the Marvel Netflix universe exists in the same world as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige seemed to suggest that fans probably shouldn’t expect any crossovers right away. While participating in a London press conferences for Guardians of the Galaxy, here’s what Feige had to say about the Marvel Netflix universe.

They’re being very, very smart about that. And approaching those shows the way we approach movies, which is focus on what you’re working on first. And make it as great as you can be at beginning, middle and end. And then look at if they’re places it makes sense for some interweaving of continuity. But right now their goal, and they’re in production on the Daredevil series, is to make the best incarnation of Daredevil that has ever existed.

Feige’s answer kind of leaves the door open for crossovers down the road once the Netflix shows have established themselves. Disney CEO Bog Iger has previously stated that all Marvel content and characters exist in a connected universe. Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada also previously indicated that the Marvel Netflix exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
