With the delay of Batman Vs. Superman until 2016, there has been relatively little official news to come out in regards to DC Comics movies, other than the occasional casting update. However, it appears as if Warner Bros. will finally be giving fans a new announcement very soon. According to the NY Times, Warner Bros. Entertainment CEO Kevin Tsujihara said that a DC Comics "film series will be announced in the near future." The author of the NY Times article also added "it is expected to include a Justice League movie." Of course, there are a lot of ways the above statements could be interpreted. Is a film series meant as a single movie announcement or a multiple movie announcement? The indication that the film series is "expected to include a Justice League movie" sort of hints that it might be more than one movie announcement. Could it be that Warner Bros. announces a film series of individual character movies leading up to Justice League, similar to Marvel Studios' Avengers approach? Or will Warner Bros. jump straight to Justice League after Batman Vs. Superman as many have speculated? There's also the matter of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently confirming that he had come to an agreement with Warner Bros. in regards to a DC Comics character. Could the delayed Lobo movie be moving forward? Another big question is exactly what "near future" means. Will Warner Bros. save the announcement for San Diego Comic Con in July? Or will fans get an update before then?
