Dragon Ball Super Episode 73: Gohan, Mr. Satan Prepare For A Comeback

If you are a fan of Dragon Ball Super, then you no doubt know the show’s current filler status. At the moment, the hit anime series is rolling out filler episodes to act as a bridge between its previous “Future Trunks” arc and its upcoming “Universal Survival” saga. Next February, Dragon Ball Super will unleash a new, heart-stopping story upon fans as the 12 Universes of Dragon Ball come to a head. But, before then, the anime is reintroducing new and old fans to some very familiar characters.

So, you better get ready. Episode 73 of Dragon Ball Super is set to bring characters like Gohan and Mr. Satan to the forefront.

“Gohan’s Disaster! Great Saiyaman’s Unbelievable Movie Adaptation?!” is scheduled to air next Saturday following a one-week hiatus for the New Year. On January 7th, Gohan will take a break from his books and don his Great Saiyaman outfit with purpose. The beloved character will find himself working as a stunt double on a movie about the hero Saiyaman, but Gohan soon learns he is in for more than he bargained. When the actor playing Saiyaman refuses to film a dangerous action sequence with Mr. Satan, Gohan volunteers his services and fights with the powerful martial artist.

“An unexpected turn of events makes Gohan’s day! A movie is being made about the dream showdown, Great Saiyaman vs Mister Satan! An actor named Barry Kahn was supposed to play Great Saiyaman, but while filming a dangerous scene, Gohan offers himself as a potential substitute!! I’ll never abide evil!! It’s the champion of justice, Great Saiyaman!! Starring in a movie with Mister Satan?!”

Of course, fans are starting to grow tired of Dragon Ball Super’s barrage of fillers, but the episodes may yet tie into the upcoming “Universal Survival” arc. In episodes 71 and 72, fans were teased with Zen-Oh’s upcoming martial arts tournament as Vegeta came to Whis for training. The pair kept up their rigorous regiment while Goku did some training of his own by fighting the Universe 6 assassin Hit in a death-match.

As for Gohan and Mr. Satan, the next episode of Dragon Ball Super may show how the two intend to prepare for the deadly arc. Gohan will be directly involved with the upcoming saga as he will be part of his universe’s team of warriors. Toei Animation released a key visual from the “Universal Survival” arc that showed him in full fighting gear, and fans are wondering if they may see him take on his mystic transformation. Mr. Satan is not counted amongst the team, but the fan-favorite character might provide some sort of training regiment or encouragement that gets Gohan motivated.

After all, what else is a father-in-law meant to do?
