ComicBook.com has just been contacted by a fan who, identifying himself as "Bruce Wayne" on Change.org, launched a petition to get the R-rated "Ultimate Cut" of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice a limited theatrical release.

The petition hopes to get a theatrical bow for Zack Snyder's extended, R-rated vision for the film, which grossed $166 million at the U.S. box office this weekend and has already earned $500 million globally in its first five days of release.

The petition so far has only a handful of signatures, and petitions Warner Bros. and AMC Theatres -- which may be a somewhat misdirected target, since it was Regal, not AMC, who had Ultimate Tickets and custom 3D glasses for Batman V Superman.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
