Ian McShane has joined HBO's Game of Thrones in an as-yet-unidentified Season Six role, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The Emmy-winning British actor is no stranger to HBO, having starred in the critically-acclaimed and much-missed Deadwood. He has also appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, John Wick and on Showtime's Ray Donovan.
McShane is one of the most recognizable actors to ink a deal with the HBO series -- which is better known for casting relative unknowns and elevating them to fame -- and is said to have relatively little screen time, but play a key role, in the forthcoming season.
Game of Thrones returns for its sixth season in the spring.
