Leaked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer: "So They're Aliens?" "No, That's Stupid"

A viewer has captured and uploaded a new, 45-second trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from producer Michael Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman, in which April O'Neil (played by Megan Fox) pokes fun at rumors that the Ninja Turtles would be aliens, rather than mutants, in the film.

"So, they're aliens?" Asks Will Arnett's Vernon Fenwick at one point in the trailer, which is embedded below via YouTube. Update: YouTube link removed by request of Paramount.

"No, that's stupid," O'Neil answers. "They're ninjas."

Early in the production process, rumors that the Turtles would be aliens rather than mutants leaked out, infuriating the hardcore fans. Sources close to the production first confirmed, and later denied, that the film would be titled Ninja Turtles, which fed into the rumors that the word "mutant" had been removed since they were no longer mutants.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is due in theaters on August 8.
