New Independence Day: Resurgence Image Shows London Has Fallen

In a page straight out of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Independence Day: Resurgence has a city falling from the sky and crushing another.

In Resurgence's case, the city being smashed is London, as seen in the new image below.

One has to wonder what kind of alien tech humans are facing in Resurgence if they have they ability to lift cities out of the Earth and hurl them back into others as a weapon. On top of that, how will we possibly prevail without Captain Steven Hiller showing up to punch an alien in the face, welcome it to Earth, and go on to save the day?

Though Will Smith isn't returning for the sequel, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman will be back and joined by newcomers Liam Hemsworth, Joey King, Maika Moore, and Jessie Usher. Independence Day: Resurgence is directed by Roland Emmerich.

Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters June 24, 2016.
