The great actor Leonard Nimoy passed away on Friday. His most iconic role will always be Spock, first mate on the original Star Trek, but the man's career took him places beyond the final frontier.

Here are some of other favorite Leonard Nimoy roles.

Mission: Impossible – The Great Paris

After the cancellation of Star Trek, Nimoy joined in the cast of Mission: Impossible during the shows fourth and fifth season. He played The Great Paris, a retired magician who was a master of disguise and role play.

In Search of…

From 1977-1982, Nimoy hosted In Search Of… The television documentary series investigated the unknown, and allowed Nimoy to be a guide to all sorts of unexplained phenomena.

Transformers: The Movie – Galvatron

In 1986, Nimoy was part of the voice cast of Transformers: The Movie, the animated film based on the popular cartoon and toy franchise. He voiced Galvatron, the new and improved version of Megatron, giving the character all of the menacing gravitas it needed.

As part f J.J. Abrams' Fringe, Nimoy played Dr. William Bell. Bell was the founder of Massive Dynamic, and his work with Walter Bishop was a focal point of the entire series.
