A demon is coming to the world of Harry Potter. According to Hollywood Reporter, Hellboy actor Ron Perlman has joined the cast of Harry Potter spinoff movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The report indicates Perlman will play a goblin, which is interesting as goblins are usually portrayed as small, skinny creatures in the world of Harry Potter and Perlman is the opposite of that.
Perlman is best known for starring in the movie adaptation of Hellboy and the sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army. He's also appeared in movies like Pacific Rim and Blade II. Perlman also appeared in popular television shows like Sons of Anarchy and Beauty and the Beast and did voice work for animated series like Teen Titans, Adventure Time, and Batman: The Animated Series. Recently, Perlman has made the news as he's pushed for a third Hellboy movie, which would complete a planned trilogy of Hellboy films.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an indirect prequel to the Harry Potter book and movie series, set in America during the early 20th century. The movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a magical zoologist traveling to New York City for research on a new textbook about magical creatures. Perlman joins a cast that includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, and Jon Voight. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled to release November 16, 2016, with two additional unnamed sequels planned.
