DC’s Legends of Tomorrow aren’t only hanging out in the past – they’ll also head back to the future to fight Vandal Savage. When the team goes to 2046 in the sixth episode of season 1, Stephen Amell will guest star as a future Oliver Queen.

And yes, he’ll have the goatee, finally.
Previously, Amell has said he wouldn’t have the signature Oliver Queen goatee from the comics, though we noticed he said specifically “on Arrow.” Seeing this is Oliver thirty years from now, he gets the pass to rock that particular facial hair after all.
The episode will also feature Connor Hawke (as previously reported, making a guest appearance), who in the comics was Oliver Queen’s son, and the second Green Arrow.
“Every once in a while, we do an episode where the 10 year-old me has to pinch himself,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement provided to ComicBook.com. “We’re not only introducing our version of Connor Hawke to our universe, we’re going to meet the 2046 version of Oliver Queen, and Stephen Amell is going to be reprising his role from Arrow.”
The goatee isn’t the only familiar part of the look for comic book fans, though. Amell will also be missing a particular appendage in an homage to Frank Miller’s work.
“As an added bonus to comic book fans, Oliver is missing his left arm and will be sporting a goatee, in a nod to the character’s appearance in the seminal Dark Knight Returns,” Guggenheim said. “We think this episode features some of the coolest things we’ve ever done.”
Amell teased his appearance on the show at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey last weekend, calling the tone “completely different” from that of Arrow or The Flash.
“Ohhh, I’ve got some stuff coming up on Legends,” Amell teased at the Arrow panel. “It’s pretty cool.” Actor John Barrowman, who plays Malcolm Merlyn on Arrow chimed in, “I’ve seen it. It’s really awesome.”
