LEGO is a brand that has become synonymous with pop culture. The sets of plastic building blocks the company unveils become more and more impressive as time goes on.

After taking a look at their recent Age of Ultron and Ant-Man sets and the tease of LEGO Batman v. Superman sets, we decided to take a look at some of the best LEGO comic book sets of all time also known as my personal wish list!
The Death Star
Although, not quite based on a comic book, Star Wars (which has a comic in print at Marvel now so it counts) sets have been declared eligible for this list. The mammoth set contains over 3800 pieces and 24 minifigures! The LEGO Death Star offers a detailed look inside the iconic Star War battle station, complete with an elevator, secret hatches, Superlaser control room and the Emperor’s throne room. The Death Star racks up a price tag of $399.99, so certainly it’s more for true collectors than casual LEGO fans.
The Tumbler
Have you seen The Dark Knight? Of course you have. So, of course you recognize The Tumbler LEGO set. In addition to including just over 1800 pieces, The Tumbler includes two exclusive LEGO minifigures – The Joker and Batman based on their look in the epic Christopher Nolan film. The Tumbler itself is 15 inches long! Massive!
The SHIELD Helicarrier
So, you’ve seen The Avengers, too? Yup. That’s why you recognize this enormous LEGO model of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier seen in The Avengers, The Winter Soldier, and Age of Ultron. It’s not quite big enough to have LEGO minifigures it includes (Captain America, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and Maria Hill) placed on top of it and be to scale, but it includes smaller figures to keep the dimensions looking accurate. The 31 inch model even has a highly detailed S.H.I.E.L.D. war room on the inside!
Arkham Asylum
Sadly, the set is retired, but it is still one of the coolest comic book LEGO sets ever. Between the minifigures included and it’s setting, what else could you want? Batman, Robin, Joker, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, and Dr. Harleen Quinzel are all included. It’s pretty much the Batman All-Star game. The iconic location of so many of Batman’s stories in comics, movies, and video games (complete with individual cells for the villains!) is a fantastic added bonus at this point.
The Milano
Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the best comic book movies of all time, also claims one of the best LEGO sets of all time. The Milano had a fantastic look and design in James Gunn’s cosmic Marvel movie and thanks to LEGO we have a chance build our own model. The highly detailed LEGO set includes 665 pieces and minifigures of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Ronan, and a Sakaaran soldier. The Ronan figure is one of the best looking minifigures to date. The Milano simply has one of the coolest looks of all comic book the LEGO sets which is credited to it’s color scheme and unusual design in comparison to jets or planes we’re used to seeing.
