The Walking Dead Season 4 Robert Kirkman

There's been very little information released about the new Walking Dead spin-off TV series that is in the works at AMC. According to a previous report on ComicBook.com, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman did reveal that the spin-off series would follow "another group of characters, surviving in another part of the world." Kirkman also revealed that The Walking Dead spin-off TV series would not "use any of the core cast from" the current show. But what about the comic book series? There are some characters that appear in the comic series that haven't appeared on the current AMC show. Will the spin-off series tie into any existing characters from the comic book series? There's also the matter of the mysterious woman that appears on the cover of the yet-to-be-released The Walking Dead #127. The issue has been teased as a new beginning, which could be a hint that Kirkman might be planning to follow a new group of survivors in the comic series. We even previously covered fan speculation that the woman might be a character that will factor into AMC's Walking Dead spinoff TV series. When asked in the letter column section of The Walking Dead #125 if indeed the comic would start following a new group of survivors in Issue #127, Kirkman did not shoot the idea down. Instead, Kirkman replied, "No comment. Read 127." However, as far speculation that AMC's Walking Dead spin-off TV series might follow either past or upcoming storylines in the comic book series, it appears that will not be the case. Kirkman wrote, "For the TV spinoff, I'm coming up with that stuff. It's unrelated to the comics. What's happening in issue 127 is in no way connected to the spin-off TV show."
