Far Cry Primal is in stores now, and it's a lot of fun. With the release, ad agency Omelet and Ubisoft teamed up for a special live-action trailer, with the Director's Cut only released online. It's their second spot with Ubisoft, after last year's Idris Elba/Rainbow Six Siege trailer.

"The challenge was to capture 10,000BC in a contemporary way, something that would convey to gamers that this experience would be just as intense as any modern warfare shooter," said Patrick Clair, director of the spot in a statement provided to ComicBook.com. "The game itself is brutal, and the world incredibly detailed. I thought it would be cool to build a film that captured the violence and epic scale of the game with slow-motion tableaus and frozen moments, all steeped in immersive and tactile detail."

They used human actors along with CGI for the creatures and matte paintings for the backgrounds. "We actually had our prop builder forge the weapons from casts of real bones, stuck together with primitive tar and leather ties," Clair revealed.
