Video: Thanos VFX Breakdown For Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy

Luma Pictures has updated their website with a video detailing the digital work their talented artists did in bringing Thanos to life in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy provided us with our first proper look at the Mad Titan, who given a new voice and an updated look to match likeness of actor Josh Brolin (MIB III).

"Loic Zimmermann our concept designer took the most prevalent features of Josh that we thought would stand out the most and put them into who the character is underneath," Luma Pictures VFX supervisor Vincent Cirelli told FX Guide. "He began blending those elements. We've taken Josh's eyes, some of his cheek, how his muscles move when he talks and blended that into his caricature. Thanos has this incredibly large jaw and deep grooves that run throughout his face which needed to be carefully planned out with the movement of his face."
