World War Z Blu-Ray

While many were calling for World War Z to be one of the biggest flops of the summer, the film actually defied expectations and did respectable well at the box office. One of the things that likely helped turn around the box office for the film is that Brad Pitt heavily promoted the film, even making surprise appearances at early screenings. Now, Paramount has announced (via Entertainment Weekly) the details of their World War Z Blu-Ray release.

World War Z will be released on Blu-ray and other home-viewing formats on September 17, 2013. The most exciting news about the World War Z Blu-Ray is that it will include an unrated version of the film. In a statement, Brad Pitt said, "I’m really excited for fans to see the new unrated version of World War Z on Blu-ray. We were thrilled with the audience response to the film in theaters and wanted to give viewers even more of the action and intensity that they loved when they watch the film at home."

Given that there were lots of stories about rewrites and editing in regards to World War Z, there should be plenty of additional footage for the unrated version. Here are all the details on some extras that will be included on the Blu-Ray.
