James Corden, the late night talk show host best known for his “Carpool Karaoke” and “Drop the Mic” sketches, is voicing the title role in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Peter Rabbit — a new live-action/CG motion picture based on the internationally beloved series of books written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. We already knew that, but we didn’t know what his Peter Rabbit would like … until now!

The cast features James Corden (Into the Woods), who is voicing the lead role of Peter, Rose Byrne (X-Men: Apocalypse), who is voicing the live-action female lead role of Beatrix Potter, and Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) will voice the farmer Mr. McGregor. Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad), Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), and Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) are voicing unspecified co-starring roles.
The film will be directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Annie) and made at Animal Logic, the Australian based animation and visual FX production studio. Animal Logic previously created the animation for the global blockbuster The LEGO Movie. Will Gluck (Olive Bridge Entertainment) and Zareh Nalbandian (Animal Logic) are both attached to produce the feature, with Doug Belgrad serving as Executive Producer. The screenplay is by Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) with revisions by Gluck. Jodi Hildebrand of Olive Bridge and Jason Lust will also serve as executive producers.
Peter Rabbit is set to begin production in Australia in January 2017. Sony is planning to release Peter Rabbit worldwide in April 2018.
