Kicking off the major categories, Favorite Movie includes Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool, and Suicide Squad, as well as competing Disney animated films Zootopia and Finding Dory. Favorite Movie Actor sees comic book movie stars Robert Downey, Jr., Ryan Reynolds, and Will Smith all against each other (Kevin Hart and Tom Hanks round out the category), while Favorite Movie Actress also features three comic book movie stars, Jennifer Lawrence, Scarlett Johnasson, and Margot Robbie (alongside Anna Kendrick and Melissa McCarthy).
The Action Movie category is 100% superhero action, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and X-Men: Apocalypse joining Civil War, Deadpool, and Suicide Squad in competation. Yes, that means Action Movie Actor is dominated, too, with Chris Evans, RDJ, Reynolds, Smith, and the other Hemsworth, Liam, in the category. Lawrence, Robbie, and Johansson repeate in Action Movie Actress, alongside fellow comic and Star Trek movie star Zoe Saldana and Shailene Woodley.
Other genre films that received nominations include Ghostbusters, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and Samuel L. Jackson received a nomination for favorite movie icon.
On the TV side, Stranger Things and The Walking Dead are head-to-head for Favorite TV show, Lucifer was nominated for Favorite TV Crime Drama (alongside heavyweights like NCIS, The Blacklist, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order SVU), and Dwayne Johnson received a couple of nominations.
The Sci-Fi TV categories are naturally dominated by shows you read about here regularly, including Arrow, The Flash, Westworld, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and The Walking Dead. Stephen Amell, star of Arrow, was also nominated for favorite social media star.
Finally, Pokemon GO! was nominated for favorite digital obsession – but it goes against VR and Facebook Live so good luck to the game.
