When Shadow goes to jail, Robbie promises to hold Shadow’s job for him. Robbie is also married to Audrey, who is the best friend of Shadow’s wife, Laura (Emily Browning), and is there to comfort Laura when Shadow is put away.

The world of American Gods is one where gods walk the Earth but have generally fallen on hard times. An upstart pantheon of new gods that personify modern technology and trends is seeking to replace the gods of old. Shadow becomes entangled the conflict when he takes a job as a travelling bodyguard for the mysterious Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), a grafter with a mission and a significant stake in the coming war between the old and new gods. Starz recently provided a first look at one of these new gods, Technical Boy.
