Bruce Willis has pretty much settled into a career of self-parody, as he’s constantly playing characters that are variations (or send-ups) of Die Hard‘s John McClane.

In his new action/comedy movie Once Upon A Time in Venice, Willis takes a page out of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick (or Key & Peele’s Keanu), playing a private eye whose dog is kidnapped by a gangster (Justice League star Jason Mamoa). What ensues is a crazy comedic caper on the streets of Venice, CA, with fun appearances from the likes John Goodman, Famke Janssen, Kal Penn and others.

Truthfully, this film reminds us of Willis’ 2000 hitman comedy, The Whole Nine Yards, which was a modest (if not memorable) success. Once Upon A Time in Venice looks like a good time – as as matinee viewing if nothing else.

Once Upon A Time In Venice hits theaters on June 16th.
