Dont-Breathe

Box office estimates for Friday are in, and breakout horror film Don't Breathe is clinging to the number one spot for the second week running. Don't Breathe took in an estimated 4.2 million on Friday night, bringing its box office total to 39.6 million. With a Friday night showing like that, Don't Breathe should easily win the Labor Day weekend box office.

Suicide Squad earned another $2.3 million on Friday night and is estimated to have another $10 million weekend. That will push the film about the $300 million mark by Labor Day.

This week's premieres aren't faring well. The Light Between Oceans, a romance starring Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, is estimated to take in only $5 million after a $1.4 million Friday debut. Fox's thriller Morgan will fare even worse. Having taken in just $600,000 on Friday, the film is expected to earn only $2 million over the weekend.

In Don't Breathe, Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he's an easy target, the trio invades the man's secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim. The film is directed by Fede Alvarez and stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang.

In Suicide Squad, it feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself? This third installment of the DC Extended Universe is written and directed by David Ayer and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.
