Few details regarding Eastwood’s role in Pacific Rim: Uprising have surfaced so far. We know it is a “key role” in the film as a character named Lambert. There is no reason to believe Charlie Hunnam will be making an appearance in the upcoming sequel, meaning saving the world might fall on Eastwood’s character’s shoulders this time around.

The original film in 2013 starred Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Rinko Rikuchi and Charlie Day. It was directed by Guillermo del Toro. This time around, Pacific Rim: Uprising will be directed by Steven S. DeKnight, who previously served as executive producer on Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil.

Pacific Rim: Uprising will also feature John Boyega, Cailee Spaeny, and Jing Tian. The cast also includes Levi Meaden, Adria Arjona, Rahart Adams. Karan Brar, Nick E. Tarabay, Ivanna Sakhno, Zhang Jin, Mackenyu, Shyrley Rodriguez, Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, Chen Zitong, Lan Yingying, and Qian Yongchen.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is currently being filmed, and is expected to hit theaters February 23, 2018.
