Earlier this week, NYCC brought attendees closer to Power Rangers than ever before, something which eager fans surely appreciated. The event’s Bandai America Booth was stocked with special action figures based on the upcoming film. The booth was quick to show off their Red Ranger figure based on Jason Lee Scott – but you better get your hands on the figures fast. Only 1,000 were made, and quantities are being kept to that amount.

“Get the first Power Rangers movie toy only at New York Comic Con! Introducing the Limited-Edition Legacy Collection Power Rangers Movie Red Ranger,” reads the toy’s description. “Part of Bandai’s all-new Legacy Collection Figure line, this NYCC exclusive features Morphin Metallic coloring as well as incredible detail and textures with multiple points of articulation for extreme possibility. It also comes with its individual battle gear item and Power Coin. The limited-edition movie Red Ranger will only be available at the Bandai America booth #1628 at New York Comic Con.”
While we were hoping for a full look at the Zords, we did not get them. Lionsgate teased fans about the powerful robots in several character posters which hit the Internet recently which fueled the speculation. You can check out the posters in our gallery below! And, during a licensing expo in Brazil not long ago, Lionsgate showed off posters depicting the core Power Rangers as they teamed up for a photo.
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove โ and the world โ is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
Saban’s Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.
The film is being directed by Dean Israelite and was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
Power Rangers is scheduled for release on January 13, 2017.
