THR has the exclusive announcement of Key joining The Predator; the actor/comedian is said to be in final negotiations at this time.
Key would join a cast that already includes Boyd Holbrook (Logan) in the lead as a special forces operative, with Olivia Munn playing the female lead, a scientist working with Holbrook’s soldier. Just yesterday, Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes was also added to The Predator cast, also as a soldier.
Early word is that Key’s character will be a “man who teams up with Holbrook and Rhodes to fight the creatures,” according to THR. That doesn’t sound like a soldier, per se; of course, since it was announced that The Predator would be set in suburbia (of all places), there’s plenty of “type” characters from that setting that Key would be perfect to play.
The Predator is reportedly eyeing a late February production start.
