A group of real-life clowns have gotten pretty upset about the upcoming movie, claiming that the terrifying depiction of the villain – Pennywise the Clown – will turn people against their profession.

A couple of professional clowns spoke with MEL Magazine, and they claimed that the movie is going to seriously cripple the already-dying industry.

42-year-old Guilford Adams – who works under the stage name Gilly – said the movie is “Gonna be bad for clowns.” 33-year-old clown Nick Kane – AKA Mr. Nick – added, “It’s ruining our business.

Roger Fojas – who has performed under names like Ringmaster Roger and Humpy Pumpy – claims that kids no longer want to book clowns following videos like this trailer. He also mentioned that his Yelp traffic has bombed since the trailer was released.

The timing of the movie couldn’t be worse for professional clowns, as the country is just now recovering from the wave of clowns stalking children in the woods.

If you’re not a professional clown, and you’re still excited about the new IT movie, it is set to release on September 8, 2017.

New Line Cinema’s horror thriller IT, directed by Andrรฉs Muschietti (Mama), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids is faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

IT stars Bill Skarsgรฅrd (Allegiant, TV’s Hemlock Grove) as the story’s central villain, Pennywise. An ensemble of young actors also star in the film, including Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip), Sophia Lillis (37), Finn Wolfhard (TV’s Stranger Things), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs (upcoming Cops and Robbers), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween) and Nicholas Hamilton (Captain Fantastic).
